Description

Propolis is a resin collected from beehives. It can be used to make both spirit and oil varnishes. It varies in color from brown to yellow brown in color and has a characteristic odor. Our Propolis Resin is Propolis that has been dissolved in alcohol to dissolve the resin. It is then filtered to remove all the insoluble material. The alcohol is then evaporated to give the Propolis resin. It is approximately 95+% pure Propolis Resin. It can be used to make any of the Propolis varnishes mentioned in William Fulton’s book Turpentine Violin Varnish.
