Asphaltum is also known as bitumen or Gilsonite. It is a brown black transparent oil soluble natural pigment that comes from Utah. Asphaltum is soluble in vegetable oils (linseed) paraffin wax rosins and aromatic and aliphatic solvents. It is insoluble in alcohol water and ketones.
