Description
Use of the Tintura Veneziana primer: After preparing your wood surfaces as you prefer, apply full strength with a lightly charged brush as evenly as possible. Some overlapping strokes are not an issue. Brush with the angle of the figure in maple and other hardwoods, and with the grain on spruce. If your spruce is particularly low density, brushing it first with distilled water may produce superior results. It is strongly recommended to brush the neck with the Primer as well. Being water based, this will raise the grain. As a result, you may wish to burnish with horsetail (equisetum) after the coat has dried. After applying, allow it to dry in the sun or UV box. If you want more color, add another coat. Typically, one to three coats is just right.
