Description

Potassium Nitrate is a white powder or long needle like crystals. Potassium Nitrate is the most extensively used oxidizer in pyrotechnics. It is used in a wide variety of applications, the most important of which is the manufacture of black powder. It has also been observed in the top layer of wood on old string instruments and it can add  a little complexity to the oxidation when used in conjunction with other oxidizers.
